Visa Eligibility

Prague (Czech Republic) and Vienna (Austria) are in the Schengen Area. Singaporean and Malaysian passport holders do not need a Schengen visa for short stays (up to 90 days in any 180-day period).

Citizens of the following countries will require a Schengen Visa to visit Czech Republic:

  • Vietnam

VAT Refund Eligibility
You are eligible for a VAT refund when departing Vienna if you meet all of the following requirements:

  • You are a resident of a non-EU country at the time of purchase.
  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • The goods must be unused at the time of the tax refund.
  • The total amount per receipt (tax-inclusive) must be greater than EUR 70.

VAT Refund Procedure

  1. Look for stores offering tax-free shopping, usually indicated by a Tax-Free Shopping sticker.
  2. Obtain your VAT refund form:
    • In smaller shops, you can receive the form directly from the sales staff.
    • In larger shopping centers, the VAT refund form is typically available at a dedicated VAT refund counter within the building.
  3. On your day of departure from Vienna, proceed to the eValidation service counters at Vienna International Airport with the following documents:
    • Completed VAT refund form
    • Passport
    • Unused goods with Original receipts
    • Boarding pass
